No-Dig Market garden

at moy hill farm have always been a vegetable production farm before anything else. we have grown up with market gardening and have always enjoyed producing high quality produce. This is the most regenerative method of production market gardening we know of. We are  building soil and not damaging the soil in the process. If you are interested in learning more about our No dig market gardening come along to one of our tours over the summer and we can show you how it works. Until then enjoy the vegetables!

We have a small flock of Jacob sheep (30 ewes). We are increasing the number of sheep each year as long as the land can support them. The sheep are grazing with the cattle, the same Holistic planned grazing system with daily moves. They are really thriving in this system, getting fresh diverse grass everyday means that they have no health issues. Sheep are renowned for having problems and we have found with the holistic planned grazing they are very happy and healthy here. 

We feel our lamb is our best product of the farm. Lambs are reared in the best way possible on solely grass and then finished in late autumn. When you buy our meat you can be happy in the knowledge that they had a great life and the land has been improved by their impact.

We have a small herd of Dexter cattle which we have grown slowly from our first cow “Lily”. They are managed using Holistic Planned Grazing which plans out the cows moves around the farm. They get moved daily and this means they get fresh grass everyday which is best for the animals and the land. We are very proud of our animals they are a part of the family and we love working with them everyday and seeing how they can bring more biodiversity into the farm. Regenerative agriculture at its best.

We will only have a small amount of beef for sale each year so please get in touch if you are interested. We would prefer to sell the boxes of beef in 10kg or 20kg but as this maybe your first time buying beef from us we are also willing to sell by the cuts so you can get a taste and see what you think.

You can’t beat good eggs (no pun intended!) and these are as good as you will get. our hens are raised on pasture, following our flerd of cows and sheep. This is how nature functions, birds naturally follow herbivores in the wild. They do this to look for insects, which in turn feeds them a healthy diet along with cleaning the pastures of any parasites. They also do an amazing job of spreading the cows manure around the pasture. 

If you choose to eat eggs, you deserve to have proper eggs that are not only good and healthy for us but also they are helping regenerate the soil. for us, this makes having hens on the farm another string to the bow of building soil.
